By now you’ve certainly heard about Santa Barbara’s ever-expanding and hugely popular wine scene and all of the gorgeous wineries and vineyards you must visit on your next visit. What you might not have heard, however, were all of the fantastic spots to see along the way. From charming homeware boutiques to beautiful waterfalls, here’s our guide to SB’s wine country:
The Nojoqui Falls Park, located just off Highway 101 before reaching Buellton, is a highly underrated hiking and picnicking spot even amongst locals. After years of being dried up from the draught, the beautiful 80 foot Nojoqui waterfall is active again and offers a stunning escape from the city. Even better, the fall is only a short hike from the park grounds, making it accessible to everyone!

As a lovely addition to (or break from!) your wine tasting tour of Santa Barbara County, stop by Global Gardens in Los Olivos to sample unique, delicious and organic olive oils and vinegars. Perfect in any recipe, and healthier than butter or other options, the beautifully designed bottles also make great gifts to bring home with you for friends and family.

Woeste is everyone in the valley’s favorite home and garden shop for so many reasons; from it’s unique selection of decorations and gifts to it’s inviting and over-crowded indoor/outdoor space, it’s a great stop on any wine tour or visit to Los Olivos. You’re sure to find the perfect souvenir to remember your trip here, or find gifts for those you’d like to treat!

Solvang is a must-see for any visitors to the Santa Ynez Valley for it’s cute, Danish influence, great bakeries and overall quaint, country feel. It’s hard to pick just one spot from the town, but we recommend a day of wine tasting begin with a hearty breakfast and Succulent Cafe. Known for locally sourced ingredients and specializing in charcuterie, we recommend the Short Rib Hash n’ Eggs or the Fried Chicken & Gravy Biscuit to start your tour off right!

Nothing to get you into the true spirit of wine country like a visit to the Clairmont Lavender Farm in Los Olivos. Reminiscent of those in Southern France, the farm is locally owned, entirely organic, and surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of the Santa Ynez mountains. Stop by for a quick stroll and photos, and be sure to visit the gift shop for premium products right from the source.
