This March, The Opera Santa Barbara will present two performances of Eugene Onegin, an iconic masterpiece from composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The story follows a young aristocrat plagued by ignorance in a world of grand ballrooms and large mansions in Imperial Russia. The performance will be conducted by Maestro Valery Ryvkin and directed by Jonathan Fox from Ensemble Theatre. The main characters of Tatiana and Onegin will be portrayed by local favorites Karin Wolverton and Lee Poulis. Adding to the fun, this season marks a quarter century of performances by the Opera Santa Barbara.
