Santa Barbara has plenty of biking options for cyclists of all levels. From cruising the beach to exploring the city, here are some of the best places to bike in Santa Barbara. Cabrillo Bike Path

If you’re looking for a casual afternoon cruise with a beach-front breeze, pedal down Hotel Milo’s own Cabrillo Boulevard. Ride and soak in the views of Mission Creek and the greenery in Chase Palm Park. Try stopping in at Stearns Wharf to find the freshest seafood around or get a view of some of the sea creatures at the Sea Center.

Bike Goleta Beach to UCSB

This is a leisurely and fun ride that shows you what UCSB is like.There is a bike path at the end of the parking lot that will take you up along the side of UCSB and into Isla Vista, which is the small college town located next to the campus, and along some of the best beach front property in California. Head toward the coast and travel along Del Playa Drive for the best of the best ocean views.

State Street

Bike lanes line the Downtown portion of State Street, a popular Santa Barbara attraction around the corner from Hotel Milo. Start at Hotel Milo and head to The Andersons for a tasty breakfast or lunch. The Andersons offers fantastic European cuisine and handcrafted Danish pastries that will are irresistible. After enjoying your meal, grab your bike and cruise around State Street to scope out some of the shops that are lined up and down the street.

Gibraltar Road

If you’re looking for a ride that involves a burley climb up the winding mountains of Santa Barbara, then this is the route for you. Gibraltar Road is a 33-mile loop that winds its way up to the top of the Santa Ynez Mountains which overlook all of Santa Barbara and Ventura. The benefit of this rigorous climb is that you can turn around and coast back at any time you want. The road’s fantastic lookouts are a famous attracting hang gliders, so keep an eye out for them leaping off the side of this winding road!
