There are few simple pleasures in life as satisfying as starting your day with a perfect brunch. Whether you’re looking for a high-quality, gourmet breakfast or a boozy, extended meal with great company, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our guide to Santa Barbara’s absolute best brunch spots:

Scarlett Begonia

Scarlett Begonia, nestled in the corner of Victoria Court with a charming outdoor seating area, is exactly where you head for gourmet breakfast made with fresh, quality ingredients. While the menu is constantly changing, you’ll always find homemade granola, soft-scrambled eggs, and organic produce. For those who like something sweet, don’t miss the daily made signature pastries.

Boathouse

The amazing Boathouse brunches are truly just an added perk to dining at one of Santa Barbara’s only beachside restaurants. With a beautiful outdoor patio right on Hendry’s beach, brunch here is a real treat. Try the signature breakfast with crab cakes and poached eggs, or the pork chilaquiles. If you’re drinking, be sure to try the Boathouse Punch made with rum, coconut and pineapple for a true taste of vacation!

D’Angelo

D’Angelo is an underrated staple in Santa Barbara not only for fantastic bread but also a great brunch. While it is typically packed with locals on the weekends, you can likely grab a bistro table in the small dining area or outside, and it will be well worth the bustle. Our favorite is the ‘Eggs Rose,’ made with kalamata olive sourdough, homemade artichoke spread and poached eggs, but the ‘Huevos Rancheros de Los Angeles’ is an equally great choice!

Tupelo Junction

Tupelo Junction, another local favorite, is a casual, southern-influenced restaurant popular for fried green tomatoes and some of the best brunches in town. Cinnamon Apple Beignets and Cheddar Jalapeno Grits are, of course, on the menu, as well as savory scrambles and steak and eggs. If you’re looking for a sweet brunch, we highly recommend the Vanilla Dipped French Toast with Berry Sauce or the Pumpkin Oatmeal Waffle with Caramelized Bananas.

Yellow Belly

Brunch at Yellow Belly is a simple and delicious affair. Whether you go for the ‘Frittata of the Weekend,’ or the Fried Chicken and Waffle, come here for a truly local experience that embodies the Santa Barbara weekend vibe. We recommend the Cornbread Benedict paired with bottomless mimosas for just $15!
