The holidays are upon us, which means there are a lot of exciting things going on at once. You’re keeping track of all your parties, your family, buying gifts, and planning meals—it’s a lot. Luckily, there is a ton of ways to treat yourself during this time of year, which always makes everything feel a bit better. One of them is booking a discounted stay with Hotel Milo during our special Cyber Monday sale this year.
Take advantage of all the beautiful local businesses during your upcoming trip to Santa Barbara, and use those savings to have a good time at some of our favorite local establishments.
The Santa Barbara Company
A proud partner of Hotel Milo, The Santa Barbara Company is a specialty shopping boutique stocked with artisan gifts and goods created by locals. The store is inside an adorable bungalow downtown that dates back to 1917. It’s a great place for gift baskets, wedding presents, and other welcome amenities for events and trips. You can also come here for bath and body gifts, cheese gifts, art, books, wine and home decor.
La Arcada Courtyard
In the heart of Santa Barbara, La Arcada Courtyard is a unique shopping plaza built in the 1920s. Come here for something local and unique, as opposed to the large, modern, often uniform looking shopping malls around the country. Home to retail boutiques, acclaimed restaurants, and art galleries, La Arcada is a great place to come for gifts, as well as a simple, lovely afternoon. The courtyard features sidewalk cafes, sculptures, and tile-lined walkways.
Shops @ Waterline
Waterline is a super unique and imaginative Santa Barbara business serving the community delicious food, as well as creative work and event spaces. In Santa Barbara’s artsy Funk Zone neighborhood, it’s a perfect addition to the city’s lively cultural scene, with a buzzy restaurant, brewery and wine bar along with a marketplace with creative studios and boutiques selling home goods, ceramics, photography and clothing.
Located in the historic El Paseo area of Santa Barbara, Wine Cask is one of our favorite restaurants and wine bars in Santa Barbara. Since the mid-80s, this has been an accountable place to find a meal constructed with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and a local wine perfectly paired with it. The dishes here are of the highest caliber, and some favorites include the seared sea scallops, the octopus with blood orange aioli, and the Santa Barbara Channel Sea Bass.
