Spring Break is a time to treat yourself and friends with some tantalizing meals and hand-shaken drinks while soaking in the sunshine. We’ve got the best spots for you to check out while on vacation here!
Recoup and Relax
If easy days on the beach sound nice, simply stroll out front of Hotel Milo and cross Cabrillo Boulevard to grab a spot on the beach by Stearns Wharf. There is plenty of sunshine to soak up here or if you want to adventure around the area, grab a Hotel Milo beach cruiser and head to the end of the pier for sweeping views of the ocean in one direction, and city in the other.
Not much further down Cabrillo is East Beach, one of the best in Santa Barbara. It has multiple volleyball courts, playgrounds for kids, bike and rollerblading paths and a full beach house that is home of the East Beach Grill.
If you’re type of relaxing involves beautiful scenery and some swimming holes, then head up to the Santa Ynez Mountains for a day of discovering some of the best spots around. If you are interested in some rock scrambling or stunning views, try checking out one of the following: Knapp’s Castle, the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens or our secret guide to the Best Views in SB.
There aren’t many places to go swimming in Santa Barbara that aren’t salty. Red Rock swimming hole is one of the few hidden gems of the county and is hidden back behind the mountains. There are picnic tables, several different swimming spots to chose from and even hiking trails! Red Rock itself is aptly named after the tall red rock that many visitors jump off of (although water can be shallow so be very cautious). The valley that it’s tucked into provides both plenty of spots to lounge in the sun or relax in the shade. For directions and other info check here.
