One of the spring’s first and most exciting performers at the Santa Barbara Bowl is British indie rock band Alt-J. The progressive group will visit Santa Barbara the evening of April 14, 2015, as part of their 2015 North and South American tour.
Alt-J has already been on the road for quite some time promoting their second album, This Is All Yours. Recently the band has performed across the Americas in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and stateside at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This Is All Yours has garnered extensive commercial success and critical acclaim, earning a Grammy award nomination for Alternative Album of the Year and placement on best albums of 2014 lists from Rolling Stone, Time, and NPR. With such an established and respected sound, Alt-J will mesh beautifully with the acoustics and energy of Santa Barbara Bowl.
Sitting high on a hillside overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean, the Santa Barbara Bowl is one of the most picturesque and unique music venues in Southern California. The old-school, amphitheatre style creates an extraordinary acoustic atmosphere, improving an already spectacular viewing experience. As the most prevalent and attractive music venue in Santa Barbara, the Bowl attracts a lot of big name artists. Other noteworthy performers scheduled to visit Santa Barbara in the coming months include Steely Dan, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, and Aretha Franklin.
Alt-J will perform with the band Jungle at the Santa Barbara Bowl this April. Jungle is a contemporary soul group whose roots also lay in the UK. This show promises to be a great time for all fans of either band, and for unknowing music lovers who are open to hearing some new tunes in an incredibly beautiful setting.
