Please join us for our Milo Uncorked wine series event on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 4-6 p.m.
Milo Uncorked offers guests and locals a quintessential California experience of drinking wine by the beach. For this tasting session, we have partnered with Presqu’ile Winery, a family-run winery in the heart of Santa Maria Valley dedicated to making exceptional cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Led by owner Matt Murphy and winemaker Dieter Cronje, Presqu’ile (pronounced press-KEEL) Winery produces elegant, low-alcohol wines with high acidity and bright fruit. The wines are primarily made with fruit from the on-site, 73-acre vineyard, certified sustainable by the region’s “Sustainability in Practice” guidelines.
The Murphy family named the land Presqu’ile, Creole for “almost an island”, both as a tribute to a beloved Gulf Coast family gathering place that was lost in Hurricane Katrina, and because they envisioned Presqu’ile as an island-like haven amid the vines.
Representatives from the winery will be pouring and answering questions from 4-6 p.m. in the Fountain Courtyard, adjacent to the main lobby of Hotel Milo.
