The Santa Barbara International Film Festival returns to the Funk Zone for its 2015 annual installment. Held at several of the top theaters in Santa Barbara, the film festival is one of the world’s most popular art and film events, drawing industry luminaries and film enthusiasts from around the world.
The festival serves as a stopgap event in the midst of Hollywood’s awards season, sitting directly between the Sundance Film Festival and the Academy Awards. Last year, the festival bestowed awards on major cinematic personalities such as Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Jared Leto and Oprah Winfrey. This year promises some of the same star-studded festivities, with an array of awards ceremonies, tributes and events already on the schedule.
