SANTA BARBARA’S FUNK ZONE
Just a quick walk or bike ride (on our Hotel Milo Cruisers) away is Santa Barbara’s famous Funk Zone – a must see while in town!
The artistic Funk Zone features some of the area’s best boutique tasting rooms, art galleries, vintage shops, adorable cafes and up and coming distillers and breweries. Stretching from the ocean to Highway 101, the Funk Zone has transitioned from a hub of industry and manufacturing to a cultural hotspot filled with converted warehouses, artists’ lofts and design centric businesses. Everywhere you look you are surrounded by art from contemporary galleries to graffiti street art murals. In addition, don’t be surprised if you hear live music drafting out from a local venue luring you in for a listen and possibly a drink.
One of the Funk Zone’s main attractions is the Urban Wine Trail. Made up of twenty plus tasting rooms, the Urban Wine Trail offers the finest wines of Santa Barbara region within walking distance of downtown. Be sure to stop by some of our favorite tasting rooms along the Urban Wine Trail including: Santa Barbara Winery, Kunin Wines, DV8 Cellars, Municipal Winemakers and many more.

Lucky Penny
Specializing in wood-fired pizza, craft coffee, beer and wine, Lucky Penny a delightful place for a stopover during a visit to the Funk Zone. Lucky Penny focuses on using local ingredients for its mouth-watering menu of pizzas, salads and sandwiches for lunch. The Lark
Located in the historic Santa Barbara Fish Market building in the heart of the Funk Zone, The Lark is one of our favorite places for dinner. The 130 seat full-service restaurant that focuses on creating a shared dining experience for visitors. The menu features artisanal and season ingredients celebrating the bounty of the Central Coast from fruits and vegetables to meats and wine. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a bar and a communal table that seats 24. The Mill
Just adjacent to the Funk Zone, The Mill is a multi-disciplinarian collective of cool stuff in Santa Barbara. The Mill houses four separate and distinct businesses including: a brewery, a winery, a home goods store and a restaurant. Don’t miss out on some of Santa Barbara’s best barbeque at Wildwood Kitchen or some seriously good beer at Third Window Brewery. Potek Winery Tasting Room is also worth a stop or if you plan ahead you can schedule an exclusive barrel tasting. Becker Studios Millworks is a design workroom and boutique showroom that offers a creative space full of furniture, lighting, art and home accents. Lama Dog Tap Room and Bottle Shop
With over 20 taps of craft beer from around the country, Lama Dog Tap Room and Bottle House is the go to spot to discover new beers. The beer taps rotate throughout the year and the selection is curated by the beer geek staff at Lama Dog Tap Room. If you can’t find something you like on tap then you will likely find it in the massive bottle shop and walk-in cooler featuring beers from local distributors including some gluten-free options. If beer isn’t your thing, Lama Dog also features four wines on tap from local Santa Barbara wineries. Named after Lama, a Tibetan Mastiff, the patio is dog friendly. The Santa Barbara Wine Collective is a one-of-a-kind tasting room in the Funk Zone that focuses on bringing like-minded wine producers together under the same roof. Each winery featured in the Santa Barbara Wine Collective is focused on capturing the unique terroir of Santa Barbara County and crafting wines that are essential to the Central Coast. Figueroa Mountain Brewery
The Santa Barbara taproom of the Figueroa Mountain Brewery is one of the six Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company’s taprooms in California. Located in the Funk Zone, the taproom features all the signature taps from the local California brewery based in the Santa Ynez Valley. With indoor and outdoor seating, the Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company taproom is the ideal stop for an afternoon beer to change things up after a long day wine tasting on the urban wine trail.
